JUST AS WE WERE ABOUT TO MAIL YOU
THE ENCLOSED APPEAL
THESE PICTUR ES ARRIVED FROM RUSSIA
And we send them on to you sincerely believing
that they will impress you with the horrcrs and
distress, the starvation and misery of the Russian
people, the same as they have impressed us.
Graves everywhere. Dying and dead every-
where. Babies too weak to cry gaze appealingly
towards you for a swallow of milk. Mothers,
children, men — -thousands upon thousands of them,
would thank you for a haniful of grain.
You can do something. You can relieve the
ageny. You can help save thousands of lives.
You can help the workers of Soviet Russia in their
struggle.
In Soviet Russia there has not been enough to
eat for six years. Blockaded and starving they
hurled back Koltchak; hungry they defeated Deni-
kin and Wrangel. These attacks, financed by
European powers to wreck Soviet Russia, devastated
province after province. Then the drought. Then
the famine. Has a people ever been more un-
fortunate?
Were trade established,, were credits extended,
Soviet Russia could the better help herself. Until
then, your every support is needed.
The Russian workers' struggle is your struggle.
Their battle for freedom, whether you fully agree
with all they hiwe attempted or not, is your battle.
Give generously of the little you have, so that
they may set their house in order,
MAY THESE PICTURES MOVE YOU TO ACTION
THIS IS OUR HOPE!
